Note from our room moms
Good afternoon, Pre-K Parents!
Halloween is just around the corner! With that in mind, we have some information to share with you. As you already know, the Halloween Parade on Friday, October 29th, will be taking place at 2:30 p.m. Your son or daughter may bring a costume to wear for the parade and the teachers and room parents will assist the children in putting the costumes on. We do ask that you keep the masks and "weapons" at home. If you would like to watch the parade, please go to the gymnasium and sit in the stands. Ms. Parker has also suggested that those of us with half-day students may stay for a full day so they may also participate in the parade!
As a reminder, parent-teacher conferences are this week on Wednesday, October 13th and Thursday, October 14th. We ask that you please sign up while you are there to supply goodies for the Halloween goody bags OR for the candies we will need for the Gingerbread Houses in December. We understand that your time is valuable and we only ask that you supply one OR the other.
Next month, on Tuesday, November 23rd is Grandparents Day! Please mark this date on your calendar and invite any Grandparents that might like to come!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!
Thank you!!
Andrea and Sara

Prekindergarten News
Dear Parents,
While the month of September has officially ended, October allows us to continue on our path to learn new and exciting things. Based on our strong beginning, we can look into October with the same eager expectations. We are proud of all our friends and are amazed by the new friendships that have been formed. So far, the children have studied the letters “Aa – Dd”. They made several projects and were provided with activities and opportunities to use the letters in fun situations. Please ask your child about their wonderful work and letters that have been introduced so far. In addition to learning letters, the children practiced counting skills and number recognition by making counting books and charts. Other activities included in our daily routine are cuttings, coloring, fine motor skills and computer lessons.
In Enrichment, the children have studied the Life Cycle of a Butterfly, The Weather, and The Four Seasons. They are very proud of their completed projects. Ask your child to tell you about each book.
Special Reminders:
• The best shoe for your child to wear everyday is a tennis shoe. The children must wear tennis shoes for PE.
• School pictures will be taken on October 6th
• Wednesday, October 13th and Thursday, October 14th, school is closed for Parent Conferences
• Saturday, October 23rd Fall Festival 10:00am – 2:00pm
• As per dress code, NO denim of any kind can be worn to school (including denim skirts and dresses)
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Have a great weekend,
Carol and Shamaine
